During the latest Facing the Future, I was joined by Concord Coalition Executive Director Robert L. Bixby and American Action Forum Director of Immigration and Trade Policy Jacqueline Varas. We discussed Concord’s new initiative, a fiscally responsible economic growth agenda, as well as immigration and tariffs.

Bixby said Concord is currently focused on a new project examining ways to get the federal budget on a sustainable path and address the nation’s slow, long-term economic growth projections. A series of papers will be presented in the coming months.

Varas shared insights from the legal immigration reform plan recently released by AAF, which is one of the papers in the Concord Coalition project.

“What this report is addressing is an idea of rethinking immigration to be a tool of economic growth,” Varas said.
