CONCORD, N.H. — Mark Zandi, chief economist for Moody’s Analytics, and Robert L. Bixby, executive director of the non-partisan Concord Coalition, will discuss the 2012 economic outlook and the federal government’s budget challenges at a lunch forum this Friday, Dec. 9, at the University of New Hampshire’s School of Law.

The forum is part of “Next-Generation Matters,” a series of conversations about the country’s economic future. The forum is being presented by the law school, the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association, and The Concord Coalition.

Dr. Zandi, the keynote speaker on Friday, is chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, a leading provider of economic research, data and analytical tools. His broad research interests encompass macroeconomics, financial markets and public policy. He conducts regular briefings on the economy for corporate boards, trade associations and policymakers at all levels.

Dr. Zandi is the author of Financial Shock: A 360º Look at the Subprime Mortgage Implosion, and How to Avoid the Next Financial Crisis, described by The New York Timesas the “clearest guide” to the financial crisis. His forthcoming book, Paying the Price, provides a road map for meeting the nation’s daunting fiscal challenges.

Bixby has been with The Concord Coalition since 1992 and has served as its executive director since 1999. He has spoken around the country on the nation’s unsustainable budget policies and possible solutions. He has also been a member of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Debt Reduction Task Force, which has recommended a comprehensive fiscal reform plan that could reduce budget deficits by $4 trillion over the next decade.

Both Zandi and Bixby frequently speak around the country, offer testimony before Congress and are widely quoted in the national news media.

There is no charge for the Friday forum but RSVPs are requested atwww.concordcoalition.org/RSVP .
