MANCHESTER, N.H. — Two of the most active proponents of bipartisan congressional action on the nation’s debt — former U.S. Senator Judd Gregg of New Hampshire and former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell — will provide a clear, candid analysis of the nation’s fiscal outlook at a breakfast forum Wednesday in Manchester.

The program, which will include a discussion of the implications for New Hampshire, will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College. It is being presented by the institute, the New Hampshire Forum on the Future, the Warren B. Rudman Center at the University of New Hampshire, The Concord Coalition and Fix the Debt.

“Given New Hampshire’s unique role in the presidential election process, it is critical that voters here understand the enormous fiscal and economic challenges facing our country and that they encourage candidates in both parties to explain how they intend to address these challenges,” says Chase Hagaman, who is based in Concord, N.H. as the New England regional director for The Concord Coalition.

“This forum,” he added, “is part of our effort, together with several partnering organizations, to facilitate a conversation that reaches across party lines in trying to curb the growth of the federal debt and put the country’s finances on a more responsible and sustainable path.”
