Maggie Hassan, New Hampshire governor and senatorial candidate, will discuss her approach to the federal government’s fiscal challenges in an interview that will appear online at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, as part of Fiscal Fridays, the public affairs series on the New Hampshire-based NH1 News Network.

Hassan, seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge incumbent U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, will respond to questions about the growing national debt, and the fiscal and economic policies she would pursue if elected to the Senate. Key interview topics will likely include Social Security, health care, tax reform, national defense and domestic investments.

Hassan has served as governor since 2013 and is a former three-term state senator.

As previously announced, U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta will be featured in the interview series at 3 p.m. tomorrow.

Both half-hour programs will appear on the NH1 website at their respective times. Segments of the interviews will also air Sunday on WBIN-TV, 99.1 NH1 News, and WEMJ 1490 AM. A video of each program will be available later on the NH1 website.

Paul Steinhauser, political director and anchor for NH1, will conduct the interviews. Viewers can submit questions in advance on Twitter to @NH1News using #FiscalFriday.

Fiscal Fridays — a project of the Campaign to Fix the Debt, The Concord Coalition and NH1 — gives Granite State voters the opportunity to hear candidates for federal office discuss their views on fiscal policy in detail. Earlier the series featured presidential candidates in both parties.
