'Fiscal Fridays' to Interview Congressional Candidate Jim Lawrence on Federal Budget Issues August 12

Press Release
Friday, August 05, 2016

Congressional candidate Jim Lawrence will discuss his approach to the federal government’s fiscal challenges in an interview that will appear online at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, as part of Fiscal Fridays, the public affairs television series on the New Hampshire-based NH1 News Network.

Lawrence, who is running for the Republican nomination for New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District, will respond to questions about the growing national debt and the fiscal and economic policies he would pursue if elected. Key topics are likely to include Social Security, health care, tax reform, national defense and domestic investments.

Lawrence is a small-business owner and a U.S. Air Force veteran who served three terms as a New Hampshire state legislator.

The half-hour program will appear Friday on the NH1 website. Segments of the interview will air Sunday on WBIN-TV, 99.1 NH1 News, and WEMJ 1490 AM. A video of the entire program will be available later on the NH1 website.

Paul Steinhauser, political director and anchor for NH1, will conduct the interview. Viewers can submit questions in advance on Twitter to @NH1News using #FiscalFriday.

Fiscal Fridays -- a project of the Campaign to Fix the Debt, The Concord Coalition and NH1 -- gives Granite State voters the opportunity to hear candidates for federal office discuss their views on fiscal policy in detail. Earlier the series featured presidential candidates in both parties. After Lawrence, the next two interviews in the series will feature Congressman Frank Guinta, on Aug. 16, and Governor Maggie Hassan, on Aug. 19.
