WASHINGTON -- The Concord Coalition will present a panel discussion Friday, Feb. 23, at the National Press Club in Washington entitled “Fiscal Freefall: When Will It Stop?”
The noon program will feature Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich, a Republican who served as chairman of the House Budget Committee during his 18 years in Congress, and will include former U.S. Rep. Tim Penny (D-Minn.), who is a member of Concord’s Board of Directors. Robert L. Bixby, Concord’s executive director, will moderate.
The discussion will focus on recent fiscal policy developments and -- with annual trillion-dollar deficits looming -- the prospects for greater fiscal restraint.
