Atlanta Regional Fiscal Advisory Council

The Atlanta Regional FAC is comprised of community leaders in the Atlanta area including: Kiwanis Club, Financial planners, 40 under 40, Leadership Georgia, the Georgia Chamber and the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia State University and Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition, the Vice-President of the Georgia Public Policy Foundation is on the Council.

The group has had held two primarily organizational meetings and elected a chair (Bobbie Monroe) who is head of the Georgia Financial Planners Association. On April 20th, the group was visited by Bob Bixby who provided a presentation on healthcare challenges and possible solutions.  This was followed by a briefing from the Honorable David M. Walker.

On May 9th, Viewpoint Learning will be holding a Choice Dialogue exercise with randomly chosen people from the Atlanta area for a day long session. It is then expected that some of these randomly selected participants will then interact with the Atlanta FAC members on a second, half day exercise. The group will focus on healthcare, Social Security, Tax Reform and other budget reform issues.  Initial consensus has established healthcare as the starting point for discussion since it is the most difficult challenge within the long-term federal budget outlook.
