Congressman Bruce Braley hosts Deficit Reduction Town Hall meetings where his constituents and the general public can learn about the national debt and deficits and discuss various possible policy choices that could improve our fiscal outlook. Working together in small groups, attendees will put forth a package of policy proposals that they support--including tough decisions about health care, defense and education spending, among others--to reduce the 10-year deficit.
Principles & Priorities is our flagship exercise that has been used in hundreds of High Schools, Colleges and Universities across the country. In it, participants make decisions about the best combination of program spending and tax policies to match with their larger sense of what the principles behind our budgets should be and what priorities the government should place at the forefront of fiscal decision-making.
