Summary:

Two of the most active and respected proponents of bipartisan congressional action on the nation's debt - former U.S. Senator Judd Gregg of New Hampshire and former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell - will provide a clear, candid analysis of the nation's fiscal outlook at a June 18 forum in Manchester, N.H.

The program is being presented by the New Hampshire Forum on the Future, the New Hampshire Institute of Politics, the Warren B. Rudman Center at the University of New Hampshire, Fix the Debt and The Concord Coalition.

The forum will explore the causes of the nation's rising debt, including an inefficient tax system as well as unsustainable health care and retirement programs and rising interest payments. The program will also address possible bipartisan solutions that could put the country on a more responsible fiscal and economic path in the decades ahead.
